The Story and History of Hubzilla
In communications, one of the most powerful things is a story. People listen to stories. It draws them in. And Hubzilla has a story and history to tell as one of the founding platforms of the fediverse. People often see us as just another fediverse project, but Hubzilla and related projects have a much deeper history.
There have been several posts recently, including one by @
Mike Macgirvin 🖥️, about the history of his work, which includes Hubzilla. And some fears that this history will be overwritten and forgotten by others.
One way to prevent that from happening is by telling the true story of our work.
The story should be short, preferably the size of an article. We would also have a separate timeline page, so we don't overwhelm the story with dates and facts within the storytelling. We can add other pages if desired.
I would be willing to write that story, but I need some help getting the details right. So far I have some of the dates for name changes, and some of the dates for new features as they were introduced.
