Viewing boosted Mastodon threads
When Mastodon threads are boosted onto my feed, is there a way I can view them as conversations on Hubzilla without needing to click through to Mastodon to access the thread on the Mastodon side?
Here's an example:

There's a hack at least, which often works. Copy the URL of the original Mastodon thread into "connections -> Add" and see for yourself. A connection will not be added, but often a Mastodon post be displayed within HZ. This should logically work with "Search" rather than add, and not on the connections page, but when i asked about this weirdness i got the feedback "it's intended behaviour". Well, so be it ;)
Oh, now i realize you're asking about the complete thread. I've no answer for that, sorry for the misread.

Paraphrasing Mike Macgirvin's explanations: The underlying problem is that Mastodon does not have
conversations
. A Mastodon reply can link to the original post, which makes it findable (usually), or it can link to another reply, which makes it very hard to find if you're starting from the original post. Even if you view a thread on Mastodon, you will frequently
not
see the entire tree of replies in one place -- you may need to open the URL of a reply in order to see the next level of replies.
Not sure how you guys do it in Hubzilla, but in Streams, I can put the URL of a post or reply into the Search box, and my instance will load whatever it can find, and assemble it into something that looks like a conversation. I may need to do this with several Mastodon replies in sequence, in order to get more of the pseudo-conversation assembled.
