Hi.

New on this hub, trying first steps, searching accounts on a Masto host to add, ends up with "protocol disabled".
A disabled AP protocol - really possible?
Tried with and without "@" before.

If you cannot find the Diaspora app, it is probably because the admin has not installed the Diaspora protocol as an add-on.

Huuupy... Your admin is me... 😂

Do you need Diaspora contacts?

Never mind... I'll just install it. Then you should be able to find the app under ‘available apps’. 😉

I hadn't installed it because I no longer need Diaspora contacts and there have been no other requests so far. Now it's installed and you can install and use the app.

@LasseGismo Yes, I also joined the Fediverse via Diaspora. That was in 2015. And I also had quite a few contacts. But over the years I found the contacts that were important to me in the AP Fediverse and so I gave up Diaspora at some point.
