Suggestion for a change regarding the behaviour regarding photos
Yesterday, using the photos module, I uploaded a new photo album with 18 photos, and changed the toggle switch to "create a status post for this upload" to Yes. As a result, it created 18 separate statuses in the channel timeline. The behaviour I was expecting was for it to create a single post for the whole album.
That's embarrassing and could get someone blocked.. (I'm glad there were only 18 photos and not 200 in the album, and that that they didn't go into a public timeline..) I could go to each status and delete it, but I suspect that the deletion would reach only hubzilla connections and not activity pub connections. Another thing that is not intuitive (for me) is that deleting a status in the channel timeline deletes the photo in the hubzilla photo album; so once I deleted the statuses, all the photos were gone.
I don't know how easy it would be to correct the latter, because that seems to be fundamental to the way Hubzilla works. But I do think something has to be done about that "create a status for this upload" button, to make it clear that this means "create individual statuses for each photo in the upload", or something similar. Ideally that would be replaced by a button to share the album itself. (Maybe there is such an option somewhere and I just didn't see it.) If there isn't an option to share a photo album directly, a work around is obviously to copy the album link and mention it in the body of the status - that way, at least, deleting the status would not delete the photo album itself.
