Language settings
Just upgraded to recent version - but something with language settings is broken. I set de-de in the site configuration but all texts are in English - what's wrong?

No idea what's wrong, but I'm seeing the same. Tried de-de and es-es and it remains in English.

Thanks for confirmation - seems to be a bug with new version 7.6

I think the channel setting overrides the site setting and the channel setting defaults to the browser default language. So i guess the system language setting in /admin/site is kind of obsolete...

And where do you set the language in the channel settings? I don't see such a option.

I found it... Hubzilla uses the language which is found in browser settings. But this point should be reworked a little bit - language settings aren't so simple...
In my case:
Firefox is set to German (de).
But Hubzilla searches an other string for German - "de-de" and because it finds only "de" the texts are in English.
There are other German variants - "de-ch" for German Switzerland and "de-at" for German Austria.
So Hubzilla should look for German only to "de" - not "de-de" - or better for all "de" variants.

or set under
about:preferences#general > Bevorzugte Sprachen für die Darstellung von Websites wählen
"de" and "de-de" and "de-ch" "de-at" in your browser not just "de"

Exactly what I did ;-) On the other side why not to let user set the language in his profile of Hubzilla?

I don't understand your answer. Which "language app"?

It's an app you need to install. See under Apps -> Available Apps -> Language.

You are right - folder "de" should be a simlink to folder "de-de" - but its a real folder with content - not language files.
