tThe error can be corrected by
1. the administrator in admin > addon > articles switches off the checkbox if necessary and switches it on again.
2. the user on the channel uninstalls the app articles if necessary and (re)installs it.
After that, the articles that were once displayed as posts will be visible as articles again.
