This would be a page we could start on w/o triggering new messages to be marked as read? If so, whatever is on it will be better than the Apps page which is what I use to prevent new messages from being marked as read before I read them. :-)

@Marshall Sutherland iirc since version 6 /hq is the default startpage. This will just show you the latest post but marks it read. Might that be something for you?

Could be. Since is only showing a single message and its replies, there isn't the problem of lots of messages possibly being marked as read as the page loads. My typical process is to work through my notifications from oldest to newest.
