Seem Problem to Edit Comment You Make to Some O.P. on Forum if not Visit via HQ, only Delete

Unable to edit some comment I make on this forum. Gear symbol drop-down ⚙️ not show delete but no show edit. This when visit direct to here forum. If visit via own Hub, example /hq/, also not fully work, some comments on O.P. thread show. Some self made comment show or no show. Some comment from others not show. Is problem since edit is very helpful thing to clarify or for error fix. And comment on O.P. from other person is good way.

As wrote in newer O.P., visit via zotadel.net and no show of ⚙️ option to edit, no ⚙️ option to delete, not show at all on visit via own Hub.

Now comment just above ^↑↑↑^, ⚙️ option to delete show but not for edit. Still not see via own Hub.

Yet, from what i seem to understand you found out, that you cannot edit comments here.

That is correct, you can't.

zodatel has set this forum, so that one needs to think first, then write, thzen correct, and then only post. I was a victim of this many times before myself, but it helps in learning to overthink everything, before you go live with it. So i consider it a good exercise. ;)

P.S.: Tip: Use the eye icon to preview your post, correct errors and only then submit the post.

Yes, yes, I use preview, VERY Simple. Also yes I say need is for not do shift+enter when use other chat so not make many one-line post like SMS kid.

But human condition is with forget or remember later, or realize need for fix typo'.  And less top-post make better forum with less question burry under many new post were to do edit is better.

Also I see post and edit below I do, not show on zotadel.net and you need edit unless "zodatel" is also use of site 🤭️ .

Now must top-post other so point get make, unfortunate.

Also, try to share this and navigate from page, lose edit, no good.  So maybe learn use, instead, external editor, but no have such with BBCode 🤷‍♂️️ .

Anyway now as this with other recent O.P. top-post, mine, now seem fix as appear on Hub my own, not need direct visit of zotadel.net .

But sadness of losing edit, and sadness of below post with edit allowed, not appear in scrollback for other despite delivery report say

I no understand, look again on absolute-no-login browser, spare machine, see now post comment with edit. Confuse much with Hubzilla and not help to on-board others. (In other O.P. I ask for only on-boarding people from Guest Access Token which easy for them, or should yes, harder for rest of us)

If you can find a copy of the post on your own HQ, you can sometimes edit it there. You will not be able to edit it on the forum website itself.

Much for gratitude, @Scott M. Stolz, for answer directly on this.  Yes, this is problem of use, compound of problem is as I try explain is communication issue between Hub I use now and Hub of zotadel.net and provide Delivery Report copy.  And also request of inventory of link structure so have knowledge of how manually write like for situation as for your reply, but also for use with Guest Access Token in older post now buried in demand for me have study more of English language.

Some are say "RTFM" but I cannot find for read.

Main use for Hubzilla now is for Guest Access Token for have connect with people who not will install addition of software for new chat thing, or for on computer owner of boss employer company and my contact not allow of install.

But here even is difficult of ask question even on official Hubzilla forum if not able edit language miscommunication, post on own Hub not arrive on official forum, must post via Hub on official forum without edit, and not able for find post on Hub of own use.  Many problem and no solve.

Have you, least for this as you seem understand, help way of find post made use via this Hub zotadel.net , how find on own HQ by manual link edit for example when communication problem between own Hub and this zotadel.net ?  I not find even comment I make to top-post above!

If you can see it, it would show up on your channel timeline. But you can't always see it.

Here is the reason why you cannot edit a post on a forum.

When you post to your own channel, you own the conversation, and have full control over it.

When you post to a forum, the forum owns the conversation, and has full control over it. The reason this is the case is so that the forum administrator can control what is posted on their forum.

The result of this is that there is no edit button.

Edit functionality by the original poster could be added, but it would require a developer to make significant changes.
