Friendica forum threads not displayed as threads, leading to clutter
After joining a #
Friendica #
forum, e.g. @
Fediverse News, with a Hubzilla channel, threads don't appear on the #
Hubzilla stream as threads. Instead, each post shows up as a separate, stand-alone post.
This leads to two problems:
- cluttered stream
- no apparent connection between posts; reading whole threads requires going to the source and there going all the way back to the start post
I'm not sure whether the issue lies in incompatibility between Friendica's and Hubzilla's implementations of forums or in the fact that almost all posts in the forum linked above originally come from Mastodon. The latter is unlikely because Friendica forums don't boost Mastodon toots, they repost them, and the behaviour doesn't seem to change with posts coming straight from Friendica users.
If I reply to a post, and someone replies to my reply by mentioning me, this reply does appear as a reply to whichever post I've replied to. I guess the same may happen if I start a new #
thread, and only in this case I'll get all replies in one place, neatly lined up below the original post, rather than as individual posts cluttered across my stream.
