Using Favicon for Platform Icon
I am always curious which platforms posts come from, and was thinking about adding an icon to people's posts indicating which platform they are using.
What about using the domain's favicon for this purpose. In most cases, it indicates the platform they are on, yet a website administrator can change the favicon to their own avatar or brand if they want. For example, most Hubzilla instances show the Hubzilla icon, and most Mastodon instance show the Mastodon logo.
Or is there a better way of getting the instance's logo?
