Hello

I try to display the post #^https://zotum.net/display/b64.aHR0cHM6Ly96b3R1bS5uZXQvaXRlbS8yOGRhYTJmZi1hN2FmLTQ3NWUtYjY3NC03MGMwNDNmNTE1ZmQ in my stream in order to interact with it.
I search it from the search bar, and nothing comes out. (In Hubzilla 7.0.1)
I tried from Misty, and I got "Item not found".
I tried from Zap, and the spinner is still turning.

Is is a problem from zotum's side?

Local links are not supported yet in Hubzilla. It will be implemented at some point...

Anyway, to get the right link, click the button with the cogwheel of the to be imported item and copy the "Link to source" link by rightclick -> copy link action. The link will look something like https://somehub.tld/item/29830fd-283928-df3293-2379ef

Not sure if you are aware, but there are two search apps, one always in the top menu, and one other that might need to be pinned. AFAIU, the first one searches your local database (imported posts), the second in the network overall.

I tried, and the first time, the first link went 404, the second brought me to the MagicRSS channel instead of the support forum. I klicked the link again a few seconds later, and it worked. Maybe this had to do with my browsers cache, or the like, but now it works for me, too (like / unlike, comment field displayed).

What's your reason to put that complete url into the search bar instead of into the address bar of your browser?

But would you mind explaining the redirect loop issue? You mean that #^https://zotum.net/item/28daa2ff-a7af-475e-b674-70c043f515fd has a redirection issue? So it's a Zotum bug, right? Maybe you could give some advice to the hubmin in order to fix it.

Anyway, can't wait to see the patch backported from Zap to Hubzilla, because for average user, a post URL is a post URL, period.

@emaxmax No, not at all... It is just not possible to verify this author at that location. He might have other locations which are still alive and kicking. That means nomadic identity works :wink:

I thought the main feature of nomadic identity was that a shutdown of one hub don't compromise the other features.
And I don't see what would prevent it, since zotum.net alreay has all needed datas....

It prevent @MagicRSS to interact as it should be able to. And @MagicRSS has all valid hubs, so he can't even do anything about this bug...

If @Caranistar chooses to set a primary which actually works, @MagicRSS could easily go to his primary and comment there. It's @Caranistar's choice to not do so. This way will @MagicRSS need to lookup his clones by himself...

The activity fetch mechanism comes from Activitypub and requires a working URL from the author.

Nomadic identity should work whatever is the primary hub. Without this idea, it's nothing more than a master-slave system, with all its known weaknesses.
