Permissions for "channel source" posts?

Folks;
moving this elsewhere, unsure where to start: I use a "Channel Source" app / configuration to reshare stuff coming from an external blog (my own) here. Unfortunately, these posts always show up "private" or for followers only. Is there any way to make them "public" per configuration?

I guess Channel Source always uses the default post permissions. If they're private, so are posts generated by channel sources.

Your channel is probably set to type "Personal" instead of "Public."

If you set it to public, your posts will be public unless you change it.

If you set it to personal, your posts will only be visible to your connections, unless you change it.

If you have privacy groups set up, make sure you did not make one of those the default group to post to.

@Scott M. Stolz No, already checked / supposed that, but it seems my channel is set to Public, at least as far as I can tell - "Channel Role" in /settings/channel is "Public". (Noticed however that "new" posts I try to compose also always default to Private. Same problem?)

activate the "Privacy Group" addon under /group

and be sure that for NO group the option

"Post to this group by default"

is activated

Maybe Channel Sources could use its own permissions setting per source instead of relying on the default.
