Where do i find the actual code, that is behind
[widget=common_friends][/widget]

Looking to change the display/number of my connections displayed publicly on my channel.

Well.
I am too bad (yet) in terminal commands to check remotely, however checking the complete core-master locally revealed:

siteroot/Zotlabs/Widget/Common_friends.php includes from
siteroot/include/contact_widgets.php

Core widgets are in Zotlabs/Widget. The display number should probably be customisable using comanche vars but that might not be the case for this widget...
