Uh, I'm a little bit lost. Is there a link to informations about "technical skill level" or "techlevel"?

I think that was an attempt in the past to try to let people pick the level of complexity for the UI. I don't think that setting exists anymore.

Tech level was indeed a slider for Hubzilla channels that showed or hid certain UI features. That was done in order not to clobber "non-technical" people over the heads with Hubzilla's full feature set and stuff they'd probably never need.

I guess it was removed because it made things harder rather than easier because you'd sooner or later have to rip the tech level slider up to max anyway because there was always some important setting that you could only access at max tech level.

The documentation mentions it because it's hopelessly outdated. Parts of it are stuck around 2017 or so, other parts (allegedly four kinds of mentions although there are only two) are wishful thinking and mention stuff that was probably planned to be introduced. Most of the time when something is changed on Hubzilla, the documentation isn't changed along with it.

There are several plans to not update the documentation, but to actually re-write it so it turns from a tech spec into a user guide. One, I think, involves getting funding for that and then paying a professional.
