From DId2 to Email Address

When under Account settings -> DId2 or Email Address, a DId2 is set instead of an e-mail address, is it possible to still set an e-mail address in order to receive notifications?

I don't believe so. You can update the Did2 to an email address directly in the database. This may have unexpected side affects. There is a open bug in relation to this: #^https://framagit.org/hubzilla/core/-/issues/1763
