Need help connecting to Mastodon/ActivityPub

I installed Hubzilla 8.0 via cPanel (which provides a support link to this page: #^https://framagit.org/hubzilla/core).

I want to follow (connect to?) mastodon channels/users but when I try adding (for example somethingsomething@mastodon.cocial) I get an ! in a triangle message saying external channel or protocol not available.

Googling I read that I might need to add the ActivityPub app first or enable the required protocols in settings but that app is missing in my backend and there don't seem to be settings for enabling protocols either.

You also have to activate PubCrawl separately for each channel that shall follow Mastodon accounts or accounts elsewhere that isn't Hubzilla or (streams). It's off by default.

@Test I can only recommend to not install Hubzilla through Softalicious in Cpanel. Use Terminal and git instead, otherwise you'll not get working updates. Went through this myself already.
