Bosts / Reshares
I simply don't get why hubzilla does not support reshares (a.k.a. "boosts").
As there is no "algorithm", boosts are a fundamental feature of the fediverse IMHO. It is the fediverse "superpower" to reach people that are out of your (or your servers) reach atm
The share functionality supported by hubzilla is not nearly the same as with that the "ownership" of a post changes. Reactions on that posts go to the sharing author, not the original author.
I discussed that topic recently with a hubzilla admin doing that for longer (than me ^^). He said boosts doesn't fit into hubzillas privacy concept, as you can not control anymore who is able to answer etc.
I can't see a problem here to be honest. When boosted in the hubzilla ecosystem there should be a way to control permissions still. Boosts should mean: Resharing the original with all permissions and stuff.
When it comes to AP systems there ist no barrier at all anyways. I boost my public hubzilla posts using my pleroma, mastodon and friendica accounts. Only hubzilla does not allow (or simply have?) this.
Hubzilla not supporting boosts really is a design decision or is it only because none had time to implement it yet?
