Permissions are such a mess...

This post has revealed many further questions.

The original post was to 4 destinations, but the source post does not show the full message source (e.g. the syntax of the addresses of the destinations, contribute@zotlabs.org, etc.).

The images indicate further confusion. Connections with different permissions, contradict the delivery report.

The account has a number of connections, some have no contact role and are able to accept all content (i.e. has a green circle in the connection avatar). Some contacts have a contact role 'default' (the only role, roles have _not_ been created), with content acceptance status 'null' (i.e. red circle).

Hyperlinks to forum posts are confusing. The hyperlink 'hubzilla | contribute' is: #^https://hubzilla.org/channel/contribute. Open the link, then the post disappears from the stream! The title of a recent post about unification of documentation, says it all... a confusion, a mess. The hyperlink for the 'post': #^https://zotum.net/item/618e666d-612f-468e-902b-53939bcaaca6 shows the message with an envelop icon, mouse hover states it is a direct message??? There are no comments visible.

Similarly, the hyperlink 'hubzilla support forum', #^https://zotadel.net/channel/support takes _minutes_ to load. Eventually a different comment is seen. A pity there is now way for multiple posts to be interconnected.

The forum 'hubzilla users support' also shows different content between the view in the account stream and the hyperlink: #^https://zotum.net/channel/hubzillauserssp

Reading your comment, it is not clear to me what you try to accomplish. You are mixing together permissions you give to others, permissions others give to you and forum posts. They do not have anything in common though...

Correct, where is the documentation to describe correct management of permissions?
Please study the images closely and notice how hyperlinks to hubzilla forum content is inconsistent.
Also notice the behaviour to manage permissions is poor, again, features introduced without sufficient quality tests or documentation...

Some hubs are using protocol features that make content invisible to some users.
Custom select does not allow multiple selection of connections (via the 'share' hyperlink), so post was shared via manual selection of each connection within the text box.
Again, this type of confusion is because of insufficient attention to user interface considerations and accessibility.

You can post to two or more forums but the resulting forum shares of your post are all independend from eachother.

@citc: To detail this:
Posting to a forum is basically contributing content to a seperate channel (wall) - Posting to 4 forums, means creating 4 posts on four separate channel walls (not your own, so you own none of them - the forum channel does). And each channel has a different audience (the participants of each forum) who, in a privacy based system, should not see each other (only within the respective channel, if this permission is set).

AFAIK, you should be able to post to multiple forums using the ACL (lock symbol) - just not by simple selection in the main screen, but in custom mode by setting multiple "allow" rights. I am not sure whether this posts to the channel walls or to the channel as a DM, though, but when it works via exclusive mention tag, it should work via "allow" right, too. I do not like the two seperate ACL UIs, either, and would prefer a more intuitive integrated UI, but I am no dev so all I cannot implement my ideas.

I am not sure as posting to multiple forums seems no typical use case to me - But each of us may have different use cases - granted, and as I know myself, it will be a use case for me, too, one day :slight_smile:

This suspicion was just WRONG.

@citc just looked at it closer again... The forms have three different sets of permissions

have a look at the "Individual Permissions" of this channels

at "hubzillauserssp@zotum.net" and contribute@hubzilla.org you probably don´t have the right to
"Can send me their channel stream and posts"

but only the right to
"Can post on my channel (wall) page"

That is way your post don´t show up at this forums
