can neither approve nor deny on registration queue

Hubzilla Support Forum Those who've known me a long time will be aware that my attitude to system admin can be quite shambolic and I can sometimes ignore stuff if it's not affecting me too badly. Case in point: my admin > accounts page. Over the last few days I have been deleting rogue (not in a malicious sense -- I mean never used, no connections) accounts and channels. And so I move onto registrations.
I have a large number of ancient "Verified registrations waiting for approval" that I can't get rid of and also a small number of unverified, one of which I want to approve.
If I select a tick box to select and try to approve or decline I get a broken spinny cursor and nothing happens. The following error is from the Firefox Console when I tried to approve an unverified registration:

This is on an up-to-date (6.4.2 - 1248) hub. This is all in preparation for moving the hub to a new box incidentally. Pointers appreciated as always.
