How do I connect via chat addon?

both users ahve chat permission enabled.
both users have created a chat room.

How can I invite a user to chat with me?

Help just tells me, that other users are shown on the side, but there are none. Just the creator of the chat room.

Yes, that is the first level of permissions - which you don't normally have to mess around with, except you are an expert. It is called expert mode for a reason...

The second level of permissions, where you should mess around with, is at the app level - the lock icon at the place you create stuff like chatrooms, wikis, posts, etc.

So make sure your contact has permission to access the chatroom there.

For example, this is a public chatroom at my site: #^https://hub.somaton.com/chat/mario/17
