When the addon Flashcards was created years ago, Hubzilla provided an acl dialog to set both read AND write permissions.

Nowadays all acl dialogs (modal or dropdown I found) only show read permissions. Is this correct?

Why do I ask?

One feature of the addon is (was) to allow users to modify the cards of other users (to add cards, fix typos,...) - if they are allowed to do so. The cards are stored in files. Hence the addon checks file permissions.

Are there any ideas/suggestions how to set write permissions of files.

Hang on a minute... I think I am wrong. The addon has never set the write permission by using an acl dialog.

Still one question left. How do I set write permission of a file?

@oj Why do you want to change the permissions on a file? That will affect which other users on the host server has access to the file, but has nothing to do with how Hubzilla channels can interact with it.

In any case, you can use the PHP chmod() function to do that if you must.

How do I set write permission of a file?

The best way is to do it under "contact roles" I guess.

@oj Ah... I think perhaps I misunderstood what you meant, then. Thought you meant OS permission in the file system. Disregard previous comment :)

Two changes added to the merge request

- The owner can still view the read permissions in the addon but can not change them any more directly. To change permission the owner of the cards has to use the cloud app.
- Fix a bug that occurs only if the user starts the addon for the very first time

If there are any other changes they will go into another branch / merge request.

@oj it looks like it is currently not possible to start a new box. The save button is being disabled as soon as i start to type a title...
