Federation with Pixelfed fails

Hello:
I'm new to Hubzilla and I'm having some problems with federation to Pixelfed.
I have two Hubzilla channels at libera.site; a personal and a forum channel. Neither of the channels can post a message to any of the two Pixelfed accounts I have on two different instances: pixelfed.social and pixelfed.de
ActivityPub is activated on both channels and both channels can send to and receive seamlessly from my accounts on the Mastodon instance ballhaus.community.

On the other hand, I can share a post from any of the two Pixelfed accounts to the Hubzilla channels without issues. I can even comment on the post in Hubzilla, and the comment will appear in Pixelfed.

Does anyone have had issues with Pixelfed federation from Hubzilla? What Am I doing wrong? Thank you for helping :)

Looking and writing into #^https://github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+Hubzilla could shed some light there. Essentially Pixelfed has many problems properly federating even with Mastodon.

@_jayrope Hm... I've got responses on my comments to pixelfed posts, so the commenting seems to work.

Last time I checked (which was a while ago,) likes were not propagated, and neither were top level posts.

@Harald Eilertsen @Poul Pock-Steen My main point was to clarify, that the issue involvs two repos, HZ and Pixeldfed. In the past i had good experiences bringing devs from both sides together on such issues. Unsure, if Pixelfed i that responsive in that regard - however this approach worked for me with f.i. Mastodon well before.

@_jayrope Of course, communication always involves both parties. How did you manage to get the developers from both sides together, for example on an issue like this? I really think it's a pity if the simple act of sharing a post between two well established platforms like Hubzilla and Pixelfed doesn't work .... And a drawback for the propagation of the whole idea behind the Fediverse!

Are you aware of other platforms in the Fediverse that doesn't federate properly with Hubzilla?
What about Bluesky? Is it possible to bridge to Bluesky? The handle @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy. seems not to be recognised by Hubzilla.

@Poul Pock-Steen First of all, Hubzilla doesn't do Mastodon's "@ at the beginning" thing.

Besides, at least some public Hubzilla hubs are blocked by Threads because they they don't comply with the requirements for connecting to Threads. Specifically, they don't have a publicly visible feed of everything that happens on or enters into an instance.

I've managed to bridge to my account at Bluesky from my account at Hubzilla. It all works seamlessly although the posts take some time to appear in Bluesky. But it works!

Don't forget to exclude the first '@' (Hubzilla style) when you connect!

@Poul Pock-Steen I guess libera.site is small enough for Meta to not care about it. They only take care of instances from a certain size upward, probably 1,000 MAUs and more. Otherwise they'd have to add thousands upon thousands of personal or otherwise tiny instances to their list.

hub.netzgemeinde.eu and hub.hubzilla.de, the only hubs with over 1,000 MAUs, are definitely on the blocklist.

Bluesky is not owned by Meta. As far as I know Bluesky is not currently blocking instances in the Fediverse by size.

Bluesky probably barely has any rules for connecting instances because the makers don't consider the possibility of any existing third-party stuff connecting.
