Hubzilla doesn't understand the recently new URL format of (streams) messages
It looks like (streams) has recently changed the format of the URLs under which it keeps and sends its messages.
A post from hub.elsmussols.net, which is running the most recent version of (streams), 24.07.20.1, has this URL, for example:
https://streams.elsmussols.net/.well-known/apgateway/did:key:z6Mkmc3YmgUu5jTyhc6YqC8VjnMwmFtdjFFA45MHTqyBFaA2/item/acd93040-0c7b-41b0-b9b4-4048dadc29e3I have yet to find out whether that's
- a bug limited to this instance
- a bug introduced with a July release of (streams)
- intended to be this way
Still, Hubzilla doesn't know how to handle this URL or what's behind it. Entering it into search will cause the search to keep running indefinitely.
Cutting the URL down to
https://streams.elsmussols.net/item/acd93040-0c7b-41b0-b9b4-4048dadc29e3lets Hubzilla find the post, and it will correctly link to the profile of the poster, but it will neither retrieve the name nor the profile picture of the poster.
