Stream "blocked" by a contact?
I had a strange behaviour today.
The stream did not start up, only the permanently rotating circle was visible. I first checked the operability of the hub that I operate myself. I couldn't find any problems there.
In addition, streams from the privacy groups could be displayed as normal. Only the "Friends" group showed the same behaviour as the unfiltered stream.
My other channels on my hub also worked without any problems.
I now operate another hub. And there, too, the clone of my primary channel (pepecyb@hub.hubzilla.hu) showed the same behaviour. The stream was not displayed.
The HQ worked on both hubs.
From this I concluded that it must be related to a contact that I don't have on other channels.
But... which contact is causing the problem?
When I clicked on the posts listed in the left sidebar in HQ, the respective posts were also displayed. Only the last post from fediverseobserver@fediverse.one was not displayed (spinning circle).
So I removed fediverseobserver@fediverse.one from the "Friends" group and called up this group as a filter. And now the filtered stream was displayed.
Was it caused by the contact? I then deleted the contact fediverseobserver@fediverse.one and the unfiltered stream appeared again immediately. For both hubs!
On my second hub, I also had fediverseobserver@fediverse.one as a contact on another channel that is only available there (thesmokinggnu@klacker.org)... and the channel also did not establish the stream until I deleted the contact.
So it seems to be due to this contact or a recent post by this contact.
Could it be that a single contact or perhaps even a single post by a contact is causing the stream to stop working? What could be the reason? Is it a faulty configuration of the contact, or is it possible that a post (with whatever error) from this contact is paralysing the stream?
