Hi, I wonder if is it mandatory to approve new connections, or I set a preference to accept all new connections...

In fact, I don't understand well what does it mean a pending connection... Does it mean if another account in the fediverse (for example Mastodon) has tryed to follow me, it can't see my posts/timeline until I accept its connection?

I'm working in a channel that publish feeds from an online newspaper, and I'd like its followers to be accepted and can receive news as soon as possible, without my personal action.

Yes, a pending connection means that they have signaled that they want to follow you, but you need to approve it before they will receive any posts from you.

You can set the channel to automatically approve new connections in the Privacy settings of your channel. That will immediately approve the connection as soon as they try to follow it.

When you set up new channels, make sure you set them as public, and change the settings to accept all connection requests.

With this setting, they follow you and you automatically follow them back.

Even if you do not select "accept all connection requests" people who follow you can still see all of your public posts. So you don't have to accept all connection requests for people to follow your public posts.
