I Had Two Failed Installation Attempts, Trying To Install Streams.
I was disappointed today because I tried and failed twice to work with Streams. I cloned the repository, read the instructions in .easyinstall whipped out a new image of Debian 11, a clean install and the instructions were pretty standard, by which I mean similar to the installation process to Hubzilla and Zap. Everything went smoothly, including the automated installation of LetsEncrypt certificates and in my cases, both Apache 2, configuration files and similarly, the same for Nginx. I tried the installation process twice, on two similarly clean installation environments. I checked and rechecked the configuration files in sites-enabled and they checked out, everything was in place but when I fired up all my browsers, I either got an error for 500, or I got blank pages all with working SSL certs too. I'm discussing it here because I'd like to know if anyone has had any similar experiences and if so, how were you able to overcome the obstacles. Perhaps, there is nothing wrong and at the moment, this is just the state of where Streams is currently. I've only really just heard about Streams and after working with both it and Hubzilla, I'm really excited to take her for a test drive.
I'm not to sad though really, I still have my Hubzilla and Zap servers to pass the time and my only regret is, that it took me this long to start getting hands on experience working with them. Thanks for your time and I hope that one or more of you will read this and have suggestions, tips and insights, on the ready. Thank you.
